The brief was to produce a poster to promote the editorial content of one issue of a given Art, Design or Culture magazine. The magazine was Architectural Review. The poster’s aim was to highlight the spirit and direction of the magazine to new readers.

My focal point was a quote by the architect Mies van der Rohe: ‘Architecture starts when you carefully place two bricks together. There it begins’. This quote distills architecture to it’s simplest form and my design reflects this. The yellow, rectangular shapes are scaled versions of a UK house brick in width, height and length. The colours have been chosen from the Architectural Review website and the typeface used for the content is Clarendon, also used in the magazine.
